Pace University Athletics

Peter X. Finnerty was the pioneer of the Pace University Athletics Department, as he was instrumental in transforming the club teams to varsity status, thus creating and developing the Pace Athletics program... Finnerty served as an adminstrator for over 40 years, while also coaching both baseball (1948-1960) and men's basketball (1948-1964)... The Pace baseball field on the Pleasantville campus is named in his honor.
