Dr. George Pinkham played for the football team from 1982-85 and was one of the top defensive players in program history. He is currently the all-time interceptions leader in school history with 16, while his two interceptions for touchdowns in one game was an NCAA record at the time. He is tied for third on the single season interception list with six in 1985. Pinkham also played on special teams as he holds the single season record for punting average with 38.6 yards in 1984, while his longest punt of 60 yards ranks in the top-10 all-time. He led the Metro Conference in punting in '83. Pinkham was highly decorated for his on-field and off the field accolades as he was a Metro Conference All-Star in '84 and a Liberty Conference Offense and Defense First Team selection in '85. He was a Pizza Hut Honorable Mention All-American in '85, as well as Homecoming co-MVP that season and was named the Pace Letter Winner of the Year as a senior. Pinkham excelled in the classroom as he was a CoSIDA Second Team Academic All-American in 1985, one of only seven Academic All-Americans in school history. Â Upon graduating from Pace, while attending veterinary school at Cornell University, he served as a Graduate Assistant on the coaching staff of the 1988 NCAA Division III National Championship football team at Ithaca College.
