WORCESTER, MA. – On Sunday, the Pace men's and women's swimming and diving team wrapped up their 2024-25 season at the Northeast-10 Conference Championships.
Both teams performed well during the week after four days of competition, the women ranked fourth (367 points) in the standings while the men finished sixth (279 points).
On the women's team,
Eugenia Morossi put the finishing touches on her impressive freshman season claiming the gold medal in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:00.95, a new school record and NCAA National Championship B-Cut.
Following behind Morossi,
Sage Evans finished 15
th with a personal best time of 2:19.98.
In the 1,650-yard freestyle,
Ann Punnoose finished 16
th and
Nataly Ramos-Jorqueda finished 17
th.
The Setters had 3 competitors in the B-Final for the 100-yard freestyle, with
Jean Donlevy finishing tenth (personal-best time of 53.90),
Alexei Vinson finishing 14
th (55.41) and
Jordan Barbosa finishing 15
th (55.41).
In the Women's 200-yard breaststroke,
Sofia Popp finished 16
th with a time of 2:43.87.
The women's 400-yard freestyle relay event saw the B-Relay (
Katherine Kline,
Frida Steen,
Aryana Twist, and Barbosa) finish 11th, and the A-Relay (Morossi, Vinson, Donlevy, and
Sophie Greko) secure the bronze medal with a time of 3:32.67, which solidified a new school record for Pace.
On the men's squad,
Niels Callewaert highlighted the day finishing with the bronze medal with a time of 2:07.22 in the 200-yard breaststroke.
In the 1,650-yard freestyle,
Cody Villanueva finished 15
th (21:21.46) and
Patrick Purcell finished 13
th (18:41.35).
Michael Ferstler finished seventh in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:00.49, and
Santiago Domenech finished 13
th with a time of 2:02.95.
In the 200-yard butterfly,
Michael Brace finished 13
th with a new personal best time of 2:03.28, and
Gerard Jardeleza finished 15
th with a time of 2:08.48.
In the 3-meter Diving,
Greg Asayan wrapped up his season on the board finishing fifth with a score of 331.95.
The final relay of the evening saw the B-Relay (
Cayden Breeden,
Shane Scatliffe,
Ian Ensuncho, and Jardeleza) finished 14
th, and the A-Relay (
Owen Butryn,
Talis Veidis, Ferstler, and Callewaert) finished 7
th with a time of 3:19.13.
Another season comes to a close for Pace Swimming and Diving as they return next to the pool in the fall of 2025.
