Morossi Competes at NCAA Championships in 200 Backstroke

EVANSVILLE, IN. - Sophomore Eugenia "Gigi" Morossi represented Pace University on Saturday at the 2026 NCAA Division II Swimming & Diving Championships, racing in the women's 200-yard backstroke during the preliminary session at the Deaconess Aquatic Center in Evansville, Indiana.

Morossi posted a 2:01.67 in the event, finishing 19th overall against one of the deepest backstroke fields in Division II. The Milan, Italy native opened her race aggressively, splitting 28.29 at the 50 and 58.17 at the 100, before turning in 1:29.69 at the 150 and closing with a final 31.98 split.

Competing at the NCAA Championships for the second consecutive season, Morossi continued to showcase the consistency that defined her standout sophomore campaign for the Setters. Throughout the 2025–26 season, she remained undefeated in the 200 backstroke during dual meets, captured the NE10 Conference Championship title in the event, and helped Pace qualify relays throughout the year.

Saturday's swim capped another strong national appearance for Morossi, who continues to establish herself as one of the top backstroke performers in the Northeast-10 Conference and a key scorer for the Setters on the national stage.
