Salazar Claims NE10 Rookie of the Week Honors

NORTH ATTLEBORO, MA. – Reese Salazar made an immediate impact in her collegiate debut, earning Northeast 10 Conference Rookie of the Week honors following the Dolphin Kick Off Invite. The Irvine, CA native captured two individual victories while helping Pace University women's swimming and diving finish second among four teams with 135 points.

Salazar won the 200-yard freestyle in 1:54.94 before taking first in the 400-yard individual medley with a time of 4:41.13. Her 400 IM performance established a new pool record by more than 11 seconds.

The freshman also placed second in the 200-yard individual medley at 2:13.94 and contributed to second-place finishes in both the 400-yard medley relay and 400-yard freestyle relay.

Across her six events, Salazar collected two individual wins, another runner-up finish and helped Pace secure a pair of top-two relay performances to begin her collegiate career.

The Setters return to Goldstein Fitness Center on Friday, Oct. 16, when they host Adelphi University at 4:00 p.m.
