COLCHESTER, VT – Pace Women's Swimming cruised past the Saint Michael College Purple Knights Saturday afternoon when they opened their 2024-25 campaign in Colchester, VT.
The Setters posted 169 points compared to the hosts 117 for the overall meet win. To add onto the victory, head coach
Victor Penaloza recorded his 10
th win at the helm of the women's program.
Eugenia Morossi posted the top NE10 times for the opening week and first place finishes in three separate events, the 100 (59.99) and 200 yard (2:07.62) backstroke and the 200 IM (2:16.39).
Aryana Twist swept the butterfly events with a 1:03.77 clocked in time for the 100 yard and 2:23.69 for the 200 yard.
Additional first place finishes for the Setters came from
Katherine Kline (50 yard freestyle – 26.51),
Alexei Vinson (100 yard freestyle – 58.52),
Sophie Greko (500 yard freestyle – 5:33.67) and
Caroline Ranno (1M 6-Dive - 180.25 / 1M 5-Dive - 121.20)
To cap off the Setters afternoon success, both relays favored the blue and gold when the team of Morossi,
Taiis Sanchez-Messado, Twist, and
Jean Donlevy finished the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:56.86 and Greko,
Jordan Barbosa, Twist, and Donlevy finished the 400 freestyle relay at 3:53.63.
Pace Women's Swim and Dive will be back in action for their home opener on October 19 at 5pm versus Adelphi University.
