PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. –
Jenna Pearse set the bar in the Northeast 10 on Saturday, taking the top times in the 500-yard freestyle (5:04.46) and 200-yard freestyle (1:54.63) in the women's swim and dive team's 154-59 win over the College of Staten Island at Goldstein Fitness Center.
The prior top times were 5:09.52 and 1:55.84.
The men's team suffered a 127-109 defeat to CSI.
Isabella Reyes, for the second time this season, hit the NCAA Division II National Championships Qualifying Standard (1M 11 Dives) for a second time this season with a score of 402.58. The NCAA standard is 390.
Sean Rorke won the 1m this evening with a score of 271.35. In the second time around in the 1m
Greg Asayan took first with a score of 153.68.
The men's 200-yard medley relay team of
Michael Ferstler,
Chaz Lee Johnson,
Michael Brace, and
Owen Butryn took first place by just over one second with a time of 1:37.65.
Right behind Pearse in the 200-yard freestyle was
Sophie Greko, who posted a time of 1:58.34.
The Setters swept the women's 50-yard freestyle with
Jordan Barbosa (25.75),
Alexei Vinson (25.96) taking second and Kat Kline (26.09) taking third.
Johnson took second in the men's side of the event with a mark of 23.46. Relay teammate Butryn took fourth with a time of 23.67.
Jaclyn Ambrose and
Alaire Thomas took first and second in the 100-yard butterfly with times of 1:00.41 and 1:01.52 respectively.
Greko took first in the 200-yard IM with a final time of 2:15.89.
Taiis Sanchez-Messado took second with a time of 2:24.22.
On the men's side of the event,
Niels Callewaert won the event by less than a tenth of a second with a time of 2:00.05.
Ferstler won the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 53.55 seconds. Callewaert and Johnson finished first and second in the 100-yard backstroke with times of 59.73 and 1:00.58.
The Setters return to the pool in the new year with a Jan. 13 meeting with Bentley University.
