PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Competing for the first time inside the Goldstein Fitness Center this season, the Pace University men's and women's swimming and diving teams each tallied victories over Adelphi University on Friday night.
Women's Results (W, 153-59)
The Setters put together a dominant triumph over the Panthers with 10 total victories on the night.
Senior
Katherine Devaney (Tuckahoe, N.Y./Eastchester), freshman
Katherine Kline (Salisbury Mills, N.Y./Washingtonville) and graduate student
Annabel Keppel-Palmer (Kent, England/Maidstone Grammar School) all led the way with two wins apiece.
Devaney was victorious in the 200-free (2:05.84) and 100-fly (1:02.94), while Kline made her home Setter debut with a triumphant swims in the 50- (25.77) and 100-free (56.39).
Keppel-Palmer was up to her usual winning ways by placing first in the 200-IM (2:21.44) and the 100-back (1:03.97).
Devaney also teamed up with
Kalin Tang (Miramar Beach, Fla./Fort Walton Beach),
Caelyn Smith (Gorham, Maine/Gorham), and
Taiis Sanchez-Messado () to win the 200-free relay with a time of 1:52.97.
Men's Results (W, 116-105)
A clean diving sweep highlighted a narrow victory for the men's squad. Senior
Loren Searle (Savannah, N.Y./North Rose Wolcott) registered top scores in the three-meter (275.03) and the one-meter (250.58) on Friday night.
Four more Setters picked up first-place finishes against the Panthers. Senior
Nicholas Lombardo (Staten Island, N.Y./Monsignor Farrell) clocked in a low mark in the 1,000-free (10:58.58), while sophomore
Tyler Besnoff (Lititz, Pa./Manheim Township) touched first in the 500-free (5:08.58).
Freshmen
Robert Gehman (Reinholds, Pa./Cocalico Senior) and
Michael Ferstler (Canton, Mass./Canton) also posted wins in their home collegiate debuts. Gehman registered the fastest swim in the 100-breast (1:03.38), while Ferstler sprinted his way to the top in the 100-back (57.71).
