ARLOTTA'S FOUR GOALS LEADS SETTERS TO WIN OVER AMERICAN INT'L

SPRINGFIELD, Mass.- Joseph Arlotta (Garden City Park, NY/St. Mary's) (Garden City Park, NY/St. Mary's) netted four goals, including two key scores in the fourth quarter, as the Setters defeated the Yellow Jackets of American International College 11-7 in Northeast-10 Conference action. Pace improves to 5-5 on the season and 2-4 in the NE-10, while the Yellow Jackets fall to 1-9 and 1-5 in conference play.

American International got on the board first in the opening minute but the Setters answered with five straight goals to build a 5-1 lead late in the quarter. Nicholas Pellerito (Glen Cove, NY/Kellenberg) (Glen Cove, NY/Kellenberg) posted two goals and assist in the run, while Arlotta, Thomas Earl (North Babylon, NY/St. Anthony's) (North Babylon, NY/St. Anthony's) and Michael Ruppert (Hicksville, NY/Holy Trinity) (Hicksville, NY/Holy Trinity) netted goals to give Pace the lead.

The Yellow Jackets scored late in the first quarter as Pace led 5-2 after one quarter. Kevin Kadlick (Boston, MA/Catholic Memorial) (Boston, MA/Catholic Memorial) scored man-up for the lone Setters goal of the second quarter. American International rallied with four unanswered goals as the teams entered halftime tied at six.

The teams traded goals in the third quarter as Arlotta recorded his second score of the day as the score was tied at seven after three quarters.

Pace pulled away in the final 15 minutes of play as Arlotta put the Setters up 8-7 at the 8:51 mark. Matt Gebhardt (West Islip, NY/West Islip) (West Islip, NY/West Islip) scored on the man-up opportunity with four minutes to play, while William Scioscia (Somerset, NJ/Immaculata) (Somerset, NJ/Immaculata) and Arlotta scored in the final two minutes to put the Setters up four goals.

For Pace, Arlotta led the Setters with four goals, while Pellerito netted two goals and two assists. Kadlick and Gebhardt both finished with a goal and an assist. In net Alex Cain (Rocky Point, NY/Rocky Point) went the distance and posted six saves.

For American International, Eric Whettell recorded seven saves in 60 minutes of play for the Yellow Jackets.  Travis Ortensi led the team with two goals and one assist, while Andrew Martin and Dan MacIssac each posted two goals.

The Setters return to action on Saturday, April 16 when Pace will travel to Manchester, NH for a Northeast-10 Conference game against Southern New Hampshire University at 4 pm.
