Swimming and Diving Compete at Day Three of NE10 Championships

WORCESTER, MA. – The Pace men's and women's swimming and diving team wrapped up day three of the Northeast-10 Conference Championships on Saturday.

Heading into the final day of the Championships the women's team sits in fourth place while the men have positioned themselves in sixth.

Sophie Greko continued her impressive week for the Blue and Gold finishing fifth in the 400 individual medley with a season-best time of 4:38.14. Taiis Sanchez-Messado also posted a season-best time of 5:14.27 finishing in 14th.

In the 100-yard Butterfly, Aryana Twist won the B-Final (9th) with a time of 1:01.54 and Katherine Kline finished 11th with a time of 1:02.45.

Eugenia Morossi finished with a silver medal in the 200-yard freestyle after producing a time of 1:53.52. Greko finished fifth (1:55.85), Jean Donlevy won the B-Final (9th) with a personal best (1:57.14), and Alexei Vinson finished 16th (2:03.07).

Later on in the 100-yard breaststroke, Sanchez-Messado tallied a 12th-place finish (1:11.92) and Sofia Popp finished 16th with a time of 1:15.75.

The freshman Morossi secured the gold medal with a time of 57.32, beating out the rest of the heat by over a second, and Sage Evans finished 13th with a time of 1:02.66.

The lone Setter in the women's 1-meter dive, Caroline Ranno, finished with a silver medal notching a score of 346.50.

Wrapping up the evening for the women's team, the medley relays finished 7th and 15th (A and B respectively).

As for the men's team, several performances highlighted day three including Niels Callewaert finishing 5th in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 57.16.

In the 100-yard backstroke, Michael Ferstler finished sixth (51.74), Santiago Domenech finished 13th (55.90), and Owen Butryn finished 15th (58.67).

Putting the finishing touches on the day, the A-relay finished sixth and the B-relay finished 13th in the men's 200-yard medley relay.

The men's and women's squads return to action tomorrow afternoon for the final day of the Northeast-10 Conference Championships from Worcester, MA.
