COLORADO SPRINGS, CO. – Pace University senior defender
Molly Paterson has been named to the NCAA Division II East Region Second Team, as released by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA). The honor caps a strong senior season for Paterson, who served as a cornerstone of the Setters' defensive unit throughout the 2025 campaign.
Paterson started all 19 contests for the Blue and Gold, logging 1,154 minutes on the field while anchoring the back line against a demanding Northeast 10 schedule. Her consistency played a key role in Pace's defensive identity from opening day through the final regular-season matches.
In addition to her primary defensive responsibilities, Paterson contributed offensively during the season with one goal and one assist, tallying her goal in a 4-0 victory over Roberts Wesleyan and adding an assist in a 3-0 road win at Franklin Pierce. She finished the year with 15 shots, including 10 on goal, while remaining a steady option on defensive outlets and transition play.
Paterson helped the Setters record multiple shutouts and secure key wins throughout the fall campaign. Her ability to organize the defense and control play made her one of the most reliable defenders in the East Region.
The NFHCA East Region Second Team selection marks a fitting conclusion to Paterson's collegiate career, highlighting her growth as one of the region's top defenders.
