BRIDGEPORT, CT. – Pace University Men's Swimming and Diving delivered a competitive effort on Saturday afternoon but ultimately fell to the University of Bridgeport by a final score of 201-58 in a dual meet. Despite the final margin, the Setters produced several strong individual performances and consistent scoring contributions across the lineup.
Pace opened the meet with a solid showing in the 200 medley relay, as the A-relay of
Javier Cisternas-Gomez,
Melo Meir,
Gregory Farnum, and
Morgon Washington-Patterson finished second to set an early tone and provide the Blue and Gold with momentum out of the gate.
Cisternas-Gomez led the Setters with a standout performance in the backstroke events, earning a victory in the 100 backstroke with a time of 59.74. He later added a third-place finish in the 100 IM, continuing his strong season in both backstroke and medley races while anchoring Pace's scoring efforts.
Melo Meir paced the breaststroke group, finishing second in the 100 breaststroke and adding points in the 50 breaststroke. In the butterfly events, Farnum contributed scoring finishes in both the 100 butterfly and 50 butterfly, while
Jordyn Cristoff-Gonzalez added a third-place result in the 50 freestyle to strengthen Pace's sprint performances.
Additional points came from
Morgon Washington-Patterson and
Aidan Tat in the freestyle sprints, while
Matthew McCaffrey provided a scoring finish in the 400 freestyle to support the Setters in the distance events.
Ian Ensuncho and
Patrick Purcell added depth in the longer races, helping Pace remain competitive through the middle portion of the meet.
On the diving boards,
Adem Ozkurt contributed to the team total with a third-place finish in the 1-meter diving event, rounding out Pace's scoring across disciplines.
The Setters continue their regular-season schedule on Sunday, Jan. 17, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. against Felician University at home.
