PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. –
Sean Costello, fresh off his impressive freshman season with Pace baseball, has been named a Preseason All-East Region relief pitcher, the National College Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) announced on Tuesday afternoon.
A native of Seaford, N.Y., Costello earned Northeast-10 second-team honors alongside an all-rookie selection in his first season with the Setters. Throughout 38.1 innings on the bump, the freshman tallied 37 strikeouts and eight saves (freshman record) while maintaining a 3.52 earned run average.
Costello will look to ride the momentum from his first campaign into the New Year.
The 2025 season is less than a month away as the Blue and Gold will toss their first pitch on Feb. 21 against Bloomfield College at
Peter X. Finnerty Field.
