Baseball Held Off the Board in Series Opener Against No. 19 Bentley

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Pace University Baseball opened its Northeast 10 Conference series against No. 19 Bentley University on Friday afternoon, falling 6–0 in the opener at Finnerty Field. The Blue and Gold were limited offensively throughout the contest, moving to 9–10 overall and 3–3 in the Northeast 10 Conference (NE10).

Bentley broke through in the third inning, using a two-run home run to take a 2–0 lead. The Falcons added to the advantage in the sixth inning, scoring three runs to extend the margin to 5–0 and put Pace on its heels.

The Blue and Gold had opportunities to respond, most notably in the fifth inning when Manny Carreras doubled and advanced to third, but Pace was unable to bring him home. Carreras later added another extra-base hit in the eighth inning, accounting for two of the team's four hits on the day.

Bentley added one more run in the eighth inning to make it 6–0, while Pace was unable to generate a late rally as the Falcons closed out the shutout victory.

Carreras led the offense with a 2-for-3 performance, including two doubles, while Anthony Depetro extended his hitting streak to 14 games in a row. On the mound, Aidan Kempf took the loss, allowing five runs over six innings with five strikeouts. Joe O'Toole and Brian Espinal combined for three innings of relief, allowing one run.
