PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Friday night, Pace men's swimming and diving began their New Year with a home meet against Vassar College at the Goldstein Fitness Center. On senior day, the Blue and Gold fell to the Brewers, 169-111 moving to 2-6 on the season.
To kick off the meet,
Niels Callewaert posted a strong showing in the 100-yard breaststroke posting a season-best time of 1:00.90 to secure first place. The graduate student also took first place in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:19.11.
Michael Ferstler captured second place in the 100-yard backstroke finishing in 54.07. In the 200-yard backstroke, Ferstler added to his strong night finishing second with a time of 2:05.91
In the 200-yard butterfly,
Michael Brace came out on top for the Setters with a time of 2:10.44. The duo of
Ian Ensuncho (2:19.50) and
Patrick Purcell (2:28.04) followed behind in third and fourth.
In the 100-yard Butterfly, Brace came in second with a time of 55.76 while
Gerard Jardeleza,
Santiago Domenech, and Ensuncho finished third through fifth place.
Senior diver,
Greg Asayan, swept the 1-meter (203.10) and 3-meter (218.18) events with a great performance on the board.
With one remaining meet on the 2024-25 schedule, Pace men's swimming and diving has Bentley University up next on Jan. 26 at 2:00 p.m.
