MANSFIELD, MA. -- For the second week in a row, a member of the Pace University men's basketball team has been named the Northeast 10 Player of the Week, this time it was
Tray Alexander.
Bryan Powell was last week's winner, which was the first time a member of the Blue and Gold won the honorific this year. No team in the NE10 has won the award in two consecutive week this season.
Alexander etched his name in the Pace Men's Basketball record books last week against Assumption University. In an overtime win, Alexander took over the game en-route to the programs first triple-double. While either scoring or assisting on all Setter points in the final 13-minutes, and assisting on the first basket of overtime, Alexander finished 18 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists. It is the first triple-double in the NE10 since the 2019 season.
He followed it up with a 12 points, five rebound and four assist outing in a 70-68 win over Southern New Hampshire University to help the Setters get their first win on SNHU's home court since 2006.
The Freeport, N.Y. native is one of the top assist men in the nation, he sit second in total assists with 169 assists and leads all of NCAA D2 with 7.0 assists-per-game.
The Setters return to action this week, taking to the court at Goldstein Fitness Center to face off with American International College at 7:30 p.m.
