Alexander Notches All-Met D2 Player of the Year; Boyd III and Kealey Receive Respective Honors

PLEASANTVILLE, NY - On Thursday, Apr. 17, the Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association (MBWA) released their All-Met Division II Men's Teams. Pace Men's Basketball Tray Alexander, Trey Boyd III, and Jaden Kealey receive respective honors with Alexander grasping another Player of the Year notion.

The graduate guard received the Northeast-10 (NE10) & Division II Conference Commissioner Association (D2CCA) Player of the Year accolades early last month along with becoming a National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) and D2CCA All-American. Today, Alexander continues to add onto his lengthy resume and is crowned the All-Met Player of the Year and All-Met First Team recipient. As a former All-Met First Team selection, Alexander led the Setters to new heights this season with their best start to a regular season at 15-0 while making their first ever NE10 Championship appearance. He sat first in scoring (16.2 ppg) while shooting 45% (210-466) from the field, assists (8.7 ast/g), and steals (2.9 stl/g) and became the all-time leader with assists in a single season with 277.

Boyd III, a transfer from Saint Rose College, was a crucial key component to the team upon his arrival. As an immediate starter, the sophomore finished with 14.0 points per game (2nd on the team) while shooing 37% (75-204) from behind the arc and averaged 2.3 3-point field goals made per game, 1.3 assists, and 1.2 steals. Boyd III was selected to the NE10 Third Team by the end of the regular season and is now selected to the All-Met Second Team for his efforts for the Blue and Gold.

Kealey is the lone Pace Men's Basketball player to capture a MBWA Player of the Week notion on Dec. 10 after averaging 21.5 points through two games with 8.0 rebounds. As a whole, the junior posted a career-best performance in the 2024-25 season in scoring and rebounding averages when he finished with 12.1 points per game, with the highest field goal percentage on the team (61% - 153-253), and 7.2 rebounds per game. His efforts garnered him an All-Met Honorable Mention.

The 92nd MBWA All-Met Haggerty Awards dinner is scheduled for Thursday evening, April 24, at the Sleepy Hollow Hotel & Conference Center in Tarrytown, NY.
