Men’s Basketball Hosts Saint Michael’s in NE10 Championship First Round on Saturday

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Northeast 10 Conference postseason basketball returns to the Goldstein Fitness Center on Saturday afternoon as third-seeded Pace University Men's Basketball (16-10, 11-7 NE10) welcomes sixth-seeded Saint Michael's College (16-12, 10-8 NE10) for a 4:00 p.m. first-round match-up in the NE10 Championship.

The Setters enter the postseason after a strong regular season that positioned them among the top three teams in the conference standings and in the NCAA East Region conversation. Pace protected its home floor throughout the winter and now looks to carry that momentum into tournament play, where the Blue and Gold have consistently thrived in front of their home crowd.

Saturday's contest marks the rubber match between the two programs this season, as each team claimed a road victory during the regular-season series. Saint Michael's earned a 75-68 win in Pleasantville on Jan. 17, while the Setters responded with a 77-68 triumph in Colchester on Feb. 14.

With a semifinal berth on the line, the stakes are clear. The winner will advance to face the victor of No. 2 Bentley University and No. 7 Southern New Hampshire University on Wednesday.

The opposite side of the bracket features No. 4 Assumption University against No. 5 Adelphi University, with top-seeded Saint Anselm College awaiting in the semifinals. The NE10 Championship winner receives the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Division II Tournament.

Tip-off is set for 4:00 p.m. at the Goldstein Fitness Center, as the Setters open postseason play aiming to defend their home court and continue their pursuit of a Northeast 10 title.
