BRONXVILLE, NY - Pace Men's Swimming captured their first two wins of the season when they matched up with double dual meet host, Sarah Lawrence College, and Herkimer Community College.
The Setters soared over both teams as they toppled the Gryphons 137-24 and the Generals 148-4.
Major Meet Highlights:
- The day started off on a high note with two relay teams taking first and second place respectively in the 200-yard Medley relay. The first place time was 1:40.92 and the second place was 1:53.91.
- Patrick Purcell took the overall win in the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 11:58.27 and Cody Villanueva was right behind in second at 13:23.68.
- In the 50-yard freestyle, the blue and gold took the top four spots in the event. Michael Brace took first with a time of 23.78, Shane Scatliffe in second at 24.60, Purcell in third at 25.02, and Villanueva in fourth at 27.08.
- In similar fashion, the Setters took the top four spots in the 100-yard freestyle event as well. This time, Santiago Domenech took first (51.62), Talis Veidis in second (53.76), Scatliffe in third (55.47), and Gerard Jardeleza in fourth (56.77).
- Niels Callewaert tapped the wall first in the 200-yard IM at 2:07.09, and Veidis second at 2:19.09.
- Michael Ferstler competed in the 200-yard backstroke for a first-place finish with a time of 1:57.20.
Pace Men's Swimming will be back in action next Saturday, Nov. 16, when they host Assumption University at Goldstein Fitness Recreation Center at 5:00pm.
