PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Saturday evening, Pace men's swimming and diving hosted the College of Staten Island at the Goldstein Fitness Center. The Setters fell 174-111 with three swimmers earning first-place finishes.
Highlighting the Blue and Gold,
Michael Ferstler tallied two wins on the night in the 100-yard and 200-yard backstroke. The junior captured first by over 2 seconds in the 100 (52.78), and 7 seconds in the 200 while also breaking the 2-minute barrier for the first time this season.
Niels Callewaert took a commanding win in the 100-yard breaststroke, with a time of 1:01.61 beating second-place by 8 seconds.
In the 500-yard freestyle,
Santiago Domenech captured first place with a time of 5:14.82.
The Setters posted two top three times in the men's 200-yard Freestyle with
Talis Veidis (2
nd place, 1:57.57) and
Michael Brace (3
rd place, 2:01.25).
In the final event of the night, the tandem of
Cayden Breeden,
Owen Butryn, Veidis, and Brace out-touched the Dolphins by 0.4 of a second, securing the win in the 200-freestyle relay.
The Setters jump back in the pool next weekend on November 9
th for a road meeting against Sarah Lawrence College.
