COLCHESTER, VT – Pace Men's Swimming and Diving hit the road to Colchester, VT to compete with Saint Michael's College to ignite their 2024-25 campaign.
The men fell to the Purple Knights 204-74 after the conclusion of the afternoon.
On the men's side, specific highlights come from 200 yard medley relay, 400 yard freestyle relay, the 100 and 200 yard breaststroke, 50 yard freestyle, 200 yard backstroke, 200 IM and 400 yard freestyle relay. In each of these events, the Setters placed second or won the overall.
The second-place finishes came from the medley relay (
Michael Ferstler,
Niels Callewaert,
Michael Brace,
Owen Butryn – 1:41.88), freestyle relay (Butryn, Veidis, Brace,
Santiago Domenech – 3:32.31) 100 breast (Callewaert – 1:02), 50 free (
Talis Veidis – 23.83), 200 back (Frestler – 2:00.79), and 200 IM (Callewaert – 2:08.69).
First place finishes shined from Callewaert's 2:21.88 finish in the 200 yard breaststroke and Ferstler in the 100 yard backstroke with a time of 54.19.
Men's Swimming will be back in the water on October 19 when they host Adelphi University at the Goldenstein Fitness, Health and Recreation Center at 5 p.m.
