Poughkeepsie, N.Y. – The Pace University swim and dive teams were defeated by the Vassar College Brewers in a duel meet on Friday night.
The men's final was 165-107 while the women's score was 176-100.
Greg Asayan and Isabella Reyes both posted personal bests on the diving board with Asayan scoring 227.32 in the 1M and 243.07 in the 3M. Reyes finished with a score of 258.30 in the 3M dive. Sean Rorke joined Asayan atop the leaderboards taking first in the 1M with a score of 267.15.
Tyler Besnoff swept the distance events taking the 1000-yard freestyle with a final time of 10:50:35 and the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:10:55.
In the women's 100-yard breaststroke, Rose Clark finished in second posting a time of 1:14:58. Sofia Popp followed closely behind in fourth place with a time of 1:17:90.
Freshman Michael Savchuk captured first place in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:51:40 and also a third-place finish in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 23:12.
Jordan Barbosa (26.21) and Jean Donlevy (26.43) took second and third in the 50-yard freestyle.
Robert Behman snagged a second-place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:04:60. In the 200-yard breaststroke, Isaac Sanchez finished in second posting a time of 2:29:87.
In the women's 500-yard freestyle, Jenna Pearse (5:19:95), Sophie Greko (5:24:97), and Barbosa (5:31:15) took second, third, and fourth place.
Gerard Jardeleza finished second in the 100-yard butterfly posting a time of 58:89.
The swim and dive team returns to the pool on Feb 15th for the Northeast-10 Championships.
