PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Grad student midfielder Emma Rafferty (Bay Shore, N.Y./Islip) and junior midfielder Angelina Porcello (Eastchester, N.Y./Eastchester) of the Pace University women's lacrosse team picked up weekly awards in the final week of the regular season. Rafferty was named NE10 Player of the Week, while Porcello won conference Defensive Player of the Week.
Rafferty played in two games as the Setters went 2-0 on the week. She started with seven goals and one assist in Pace's 22-5 victory over No. 21 Assumption University, while also picking up three ground balls. She then had four goals and one assist in the Setters' 21-7 win against Saint Michael's College in the team's final regular season game, while adding seven ground balls, one draw control and four caused turnovers.
Porcello had a strong week on both ends of the field. She had five ground balls, seven draw controls and six caused turnovers in the Assumption game, while also scoring three goals. On April 29 against Saint Michael's, she had two more ground balls, three draw controls and caused one turnover while adding one more goal.
The Setters finished the 2023 season with a perfect record in the NE10, going 12-0 to clinch the No. 1 seed in the conference for the first time in program history. Pace starts its quest for the NE10 Championship Tuesday, May 2, when the No. 1 seed Setters host the No. 8 seed Southern New Hampshire University Penmen at 7 p.m.
