PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – On Saturday, Pace University Women's Lacrosse delivered a commanding performance on Senior Day, rolling to an 18–3 victory over Franklin Pierce University at Northwell Stadium. The Blue and Gold controlled the contest from the opening draw, using a dominant first half and a balanced offensive attack to build a double-digit lead and cruise to the finish.
Behind standout efforts from
Mackenzie Carita and
Audrey Colucci, Pace showcased its depth on both ends of the field to improve to 4–3 overall and 2–0 in the Northeast 10 Conference.
Pace wasted no time establishing control in the opening quarter.
Sasha Kulo opened the scoring before Carita followed with back-to-back goals to push the lead to 3–0. Colucci and
Abigail O'Connor added goals during a dominant stretch, and
Katie Long capped the run as the Setters surged ahead 6–0 before Franklin Pierce got on the board late in the quarter to make it 6–1.
The Blue and Gold continued to pour it on in the second quarter with their most explosive stretch of the afternoon. Long converted on a man-up opportunity before Carita added another, and
Annie Sheehan found the back of the net off an assist from
Lia Villari. Carita struck twice more in the frame, while
Maddie Schubert and
Marissa Doty also scored as Pace outscored the Ravens 7–0 in the quarter to take a 13–1 lead into halftime.
Out of the break, the Setters maintained their momentum.
Lisa Heffernan opened the third-quarter scoring before Colucci added a man-up goal and
Madison Wade followed with another to extend the lead to 16–2. Franklin Pierce added a late goal, but Pace remained firmly in control heading into the final quarter with a 16–3 advantage.
In the fourth, the Blue and Gold continued to execute on both ends. Colucci added her third goal of the game before O'Connor capped the scoring off an assist from
Madison Ibach, sealing the 18–3 victory.
Carita led the offense with five goals and an assist, while Colucci recorded three goals and two assists. Long and O'Connor each added two goals, and Pace saw scoring contributions from multiple players in a balanced attack that produced 43 shots.
Defensively, the Blue and Gold limited Franklin Pierce to just three goals while forcing 18 turnovers and controlling possession throughout. Pace also held advantages in ground balls (25–17) and draw controls (14–8) in the win.
Women's Lacrosse returns to action next weekend as Northeast 10 play continues with a match-up against American International College set for 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
