Carita, Petrullo Lead Women’s Lacrosse Past SNHU

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. –  On Tuesday, No. 15 Pace University Women's Lacrosse used a dominant second-quarter run to pull away from Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU), earning a 15–8 victory at Northwell Stadium. After an early deficit, the Blue and Gold responded with a complete offensive performance, improving to 6–4 overall and 4–1 in the Northeast 10 Conference (NE10).

The Penmen struck quickly in the opening quarter, scoring the first three goals of the game to take a 3–0 lead. Pace answered midway through the frame as Lia Villari converted a man-up opportunity before Mackenzie Carita added a goal to cut the deficit to 3–2 heading into the second.

The Blue and Gold took control in the second quarter with a decisive surge. Carita opened the frame with the equalizer before Marissa Doty gave Pace its first lead at 4–3. Mary Kate Nawrocki followed with back-to-back goals, and after SNHU briefly cut into the lead, Jamie Petrullo, Lindsay Radmann, and Maddie Schubert all found the back of the net. Pace closed the half on a 7–1 run to take a commanding 9–4 advantage into halftime.

Pace continued to build separation in the third quarter. Villari opened the scoring before Petrullo and Doty each capitalized on man-up opportunities. Radmann added another goal, and Petrullo capped the quarter with her third of the game as the Blue and Gold extended the lead to 14–4 heading into the final period.

In the fourth, SNHU made a late push with four goals, but Pace remained in control throughout. Abigail O'Connor added a goal for the Blue and Gold as they secured the 15–8 victory.

Carita led the offense with seven points (2 goals, 5 assists), while Petrullo recorded a hat trick. Nawrocki, Villari, Doty, and Radmann each added two goals as Pace totaled 15 goals on 47 shots. Defensively, the Blue and Gold forced 24 turnovers and controlled possession with 20 draw controls in a complete team performance.

The Setters return to action on Thursday for the LaCROSSe Out Cancer game, traveling to face No. 17 Mercy University with the opening draw scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
