Porcello and Urraro Earn IWLCA Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week Awards

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Junior midfielder Angelina Porcello (Eastchester, N.Y./Eastchester) and senior attack Jolie Urraro (Sayville, N.Y./Connetquot) of the Pace women's lacrosse team picked up another pair of weekly awards, as the teammates took home the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) weekly awards. Porcello was named Offensive Player of the Week, while Urraro was awarded Defensive Player of the Week honors.

Porcello led the charge offensively for the Setters with six points in their lone game this week, tallying five goals and one assist. She also added four ground balls, eight draw controls and caused a turnover as Pace defeated No. 1 ranked East Stroudsburg University by a score of 16-6.

Urraro played a huge role in the victory as well. The senior had seven ground balls and caused three turnovers in the victory, while also contributing significantly on the offensive end with four goals and two assists.

The win helped move the Setters up seven spots in the IWLCA rankings, as Pace jumped up from No. 13 to No. 6. The Setters return to action Sunday, March 12, when they face another tough test by traveling to Lakeland, Fla. for a 1 p.m. matchup with No. 2 ranked Florida Southern College.
