Seven Women’s Lacrosse Players Highlighted for IWLCA All-Region Honors

NORTHBOROUGH, MA (May 14, 2025) - The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) has honored 128 student-athletes in Division II with a selection to one of the All-Region teams for 2025. Out of the two teams, Pace Women's Lacrosse totals seven players split between first and second team, with first featuring five Setters and second having two.

The Blue and Gold selections of Mackenzie Carita, Annie Sheehan, Sasha Kulo, Colleen Gilligan, and Nikki Mottes are the squad's first team selections, while Gigi Genovese and Alyssa Wolf are second.

Carita currently leads the team and sits 12th in all of Division II, with 72 goals throughout the season along with 17 assists for 89 points. Sheehan tallied statistics on both ends of the field with offensive stats of 39 goals and 22 assists for 61 points, good for third on the team, and recorded 21 caused turnovers with 31 ground balls on the defensive end. Mottes leads the team with 99 points and reached the career milestones of 100+ goals, 100+ assists and over 200+ points while also becoming the new all-time leader with points in a game after posting 11 (4G, 7A) versus Seton Hill on March 1.

Genovese is having an all-around standout season, setting career-bests of 44 points on 38 goals and six assists while notching 17 caused turnovers and 16 ground balls. Kulo, a draw specialist this year, set the record for most draw controls in a game with 20 versus Bentley on Apr. 19 and tallied a career-high of 157 draws throughout the year; this number has her sitting sixth in the nation.

Gilligan and Wolf are the two student-athletes who specifically represent the defensive presence of the Setters. With 27 caused turnovers, Gilligan is second on the team, while being first with 41 ground balls, and right behind is Wolf with 26 caused turnovers with 26 ground balls.

The Setters student-athletes, along with the other IWLCA All-Region team selections, are now eligible to be named to a national IWLCA All-American team. The IWLCA will announce the Division II 2025 All-American teams on May 21.

Pace Women's Lacrosse, which is the two-seed in the NCAA East Region, is set to take on #1 Adelphi University in Garden City, NY, on Saturday, May 17, at 3:00 pm for the NCAA Quarterfinal round.
