PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – The Pace University swim and dive teams were defeated by the Southern Connecticut State University Owls in a duel meet at Goldstein Fitness Center on Friday evening.
The men fell 117-104 while the women's final meet score was 128-102
The Setters once again turned in a strong performance on the diving boards, with
Isabella Reyes winning both the 3m and 1m while
Sean Rorke and
Greg Asayan took first and second in the events. In the 3m they recorded scores of 258.90 and 198.82 while posting 216.30 and 190.45 in the 1m.
In the men's 200-yard IM, the team of
Michael Ferstler,
Chaz Lee Johnson,
Michael Brace, and
Owen Butryn took first place by more than two seconds with a time of 1:39.85.
The Setters swept the women's 50-yard freestyle with
Jaclyn Ambrose,
Katherine Kline, and
Jordan Barbosa taking first through third with times of 25.67, 25.89 and 26.27.
Jenna Pearse took second in the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 10:54.53. She also earned second in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:12.80.
Niels Callewaert and Tyler Bresnoff took second and third in the 200-yard IM with times of 2:05.55 and 2:05.85.
In the 100-yard freestyle, Ambrose took second while
Alexei Vinson and
Jean Donlevy earned third and fourth in the event.
Ferstler earned a first-place finish in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 1:59.74.
Rose Clark earned a win in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:43.53 while the Setters swept the men's side of the event with Callewaert (2:17.87), Johnson (2:18.37) and
Austin Hyer (2:24.46) taking first through third.
The divers return to action tomorrow at the Rider Diving Invitational.
