PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – The 2023-2024 Pace University Swim and Dive season began Saturday evening in the Ann and Alfred Goldstein Fitness Center against Saint Michael's College.
The men fell to the Purple Knights by a score of 165-126 while the women emerged on top by a score of 165-126.
On the diving board,
Sean Rorke and
Isabella Reyes hit the qualifying marks for the NCAA Qualifying meet later in the year. In the 1m, Reyes posted a score of 256 while Rorke turned in a score of 290.93.
Greg Asayan turned in a score of 220 on the 1m board as well.
In the 200-yard freestyle,
Jenna Pearse turned in a first-place finish for nine points with a time of 2:03.10.
The 100-yard backstroke saw the Setters sweep first through third with
Alaire Thomas,
Jean Donlevy and
Paulina Pereira earning a combined 16 points. The men found success in the same event, with
Chaz Lee Johnson and
Niels Callewaert taking first and second.
A men's sweep of the 200-yard butterfly went the way of the Setters, with Issac Sanchez,
Krishna Alexander Adapa and
Gerard Jardelza finishing first through third.
Johnson also took first in the 200 yard breaststroke with a time of 2:16.61.
