Pleasantville, N.Y. – The Pace men's swimming and diving squad were edged by Adelphi 181-97 on Friday afternoon at the Goldstein Fitness Center pool.
Highlights of the meet included the following event wins:
Junior Sean Rorke, the reigning NE10 Diver of the Week, once again won both diving competitions for Pace. Rorke won the 1-meter event with a score of 268.20. in the 3-meter competition, Rorke posted a score of 300.75.
Junior Chaz Lee Johnson won the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 59.95.
The Setters 200-yard freestyle relay also earned an event win with a time of 1:33.45. Led by freshman Owen Butryn and anchored by classmate Austin Hyer, Pace's relay squad just touched the wall .30 seconds ahead of Adelphi's relay team. The second leg raced by junior
Tyler Besnoff (Lititz, Pa./Manheim Township) (22.73) gave Pace the lead, while sophomore Xander Hughes maintained the lead with a swim of 23.53. Butryn led off the race touching the wall just before Adelphi's Zachary Taylor with a time of 23.48 to Taylor's 23.55. Hyer finished it off for the Setters with a final leg time of 23.71.
The Setters are back in action on Saturday, Nov. 5 traveling to The College of Saint Rose.
