Box Score WORCESTER, Mass. – Facing a second top-five ranked team on the road this season, the Pace University field hockey team (4-4, 2-3 NE10) was defeated at No. 4 Assumption College on Saturday by a score of 3-1.
The Setters' lone tally came with less than 30 seconds left in regulation. Freshman
Noëlle Meij (Huizen, Netherlands / Laar & Berg Secondary School) found the back of the net for her first career goal off an assist by senior
Mia Radici (San Diego, Calif./Scripps Ranch).
On the defensive side of things, senior goalkeeper
Grace Henderson (Kingswood, South Australia/Unley) racked up a season-high 12 stops for Pace. She currently ranks second in the NE10 in save percentage (.796), while playing the second most minutes of any goalie in the league.
In addition to Henderson's strong effort in net, sophomore
Yske Brongersma (Arnhem, Netherlands/Thomas a Kempis) tallied the Setters' first defensive save of the year in the second quarter.
Pace forced Assumption goalkeeper, Kylie Gargiulo, to make seven stops in net—her second highest total of the season.
