Five from Men's Lacrosse Earn NE10 All-Conference Honors; Lewis and Caputo Take Home Major Awards

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – With the start of the NE10 Tournament just two days away, five members of the 16th-ranked Pace University men's lacrosse team have earned Northeast-10 All-Conference accolades.

Daniel Lewis (Bohemia, N.Y./Connetquot) and Anthony Caputo (Westbury, N.Y./W.T Clarke) were each recognized with major awards by the conference, being named Defensive Player and Co-Rookie of the Year, respectively while also both being selected to the All-Conference First Team. Alan Singleton (Pierrefonds, Quebec/Pierrefonds Comprehensive) earned a spot as an attacker on the second team while Louis Ragusa (Yorktown Heights, N.Y./Yorktown) earned recognition for his play in net this season on the third team. Additionally, Rafael Rodriguez, Jr. (Farmingville, N.Y./Sachem East) joins his classmate, Caputo, on the All-Rookie team.

Much like the majority of his career, Lewis has been sensational on defense this season. Through 11 games, the Long Island native ranks second in the country with 32 caused turnovers. He also leads the Setters with 32 ground balls this season.

Lewis has recorded at least one caused turnover in each game, including a career-high eight against top-ranked Le Moyne. Following the season opener, Lewis collected ground balls in each contest as well with a season-high seven against seventh-ranked Adelphi. He has also recorded a pair of goals this season. Following his standout performance against the Dolphins, Lewis was selected to the USILA National Team of the Week.

Appearing in all 11 games, Caputo currently ranks third on the team with 26 points on 19 goals and seven assists. The Long Island native has tallied at least one goal or assist in all but one game this season. He also leads the Setters with 42 shots-on-goal, while adding eight ground balls and a pair of caused turnovers. Caputo wrapped up his regular season by earning earned back-to-back NE10 Rookie of the Week honors.

Ranking third in the NE10, Singleton leads Pace with 26 goals this year. The Canadian has also chipped in seven assists and 13 ground balls, while starting all 11 games for the Blue and Gold. Singleton netted goals in all but two games, including five contests where he scored three or more times. He also recorded a career-high five goals in Pace's final game and win over American International College.

Starting every game in net for the Setters, Ragusa tallied 108 saves to put him third amongst all NE10 goalkeepers. He posted a 9.81 goals-against average, while recording 10 or more stops in eight contests. The 2019 NE10 Rookie of the Year has been especially impressive in Pace's toughest games. In five matchups versus Le Moyne and Adelphi, Ragusa has piled up 68 stops while allowing less than 10 goals per game. The Yorktown Heights native has earned all five of the Setters' wins this season.

Rodriguez makes his way onto the All-Rookie squad after appearing in all 11 of Pace's contests this spring. The Long Island native finished the regular season with eight points on five goals and three assists. Rodriguez also put 17 shots-on-goal, scooped up seven ground balls and forced a pair of turnovers.

The Pace men's lacrosse team will begin its postseason journey on Saturday night, traveling to face fourth-seeded Bentley in the NE10 quarterfinals at 7 p.m.
