PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – As the countdown to spring continues, the Pace University baseball team has been ranked seventh in the NCBWA's Preseason East Poll released on Monday. The Setters are one of just four NE10 squads to be represented in the top-10 rankings. 

Pace put together a 31-15 record in 2019 to mark the program's highest win total since 2013. The Setters return 28 players from that team, including a trio of NE10 All-Conference performers.

Dean DePreta (Stamford, Conn./Westhill High School), Thomas Ippolito (Randolph, N.J./Randolph) and Michael Roll (Ramsey, N.J./Bergen Catholic High School) will all be back following All-League efforts a year ago.

DePreta represented the Setters offensively after leading Pace with 30 RBIs, to go along with a .297 batting average and 28 runs scored.

On the other side, Ippolito posted a 6-1 record on the mound with an ERA of 2.04, while Roll struck out 36 batters across 32.1 innings of work.

The Setters will begin the 2020 season with a four-game weekend in Myrtle Beach, S.C. from Feb. 21-23.
