MANSFIELD, Mass. – Juniors
Abby Haimson (Montville, NJ/Montville) and
Alissa Silvestri (Congers, NY/Clarkstown North) of the No. 11 Pace University women's lacrosse team were selected for Northeast-10 Conference Women's Lacrosse Weekly Awards for the week ending April 16, 2017, as announced by the conference office on Monday. Haimson was tabbed as the NE10 Player of the Week, while Silvestri was picked as the NE10 Goalkeeper of the Week.
Haimson had a milestone week for Pace, totaling 13 points with 11 goals in a pair of wins. She tied the program's single-game record with eight points on six goals and two assists in Wednesday's victory at Southern Connecticut State. Haimson then scored five times in Saturday's win at Assumption, reaching 100 career goals in just her 30th game as a Setter. Haimson ranks third in the NE10 with 46 goals, and is tied for third with 58 points.
Silvestri went 2-0 with a .714 save percentage and 3.75 goals-against average this past week. She made 10 saves and gave up just four goals in Wednesday's win at Southern Connecticut State. Silvestri then stopped five shots and gave up just two scores in Saturday's victory at Assumption. Silvestri is second in the NE10 with a .497 save percentage, and fourth with a 7.92 goals-against average.
Pace returns home on Tuesday, April 18, to host No. 10 University of New Haven in a huge NE10 game at Pace Stadium. The opening draw is slated for 7 p.m.
