Men’s Lacrosse Releases 2015 Schedule

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Pace University Men's Lacrosse has announced their schedule for the upcoming 2015 season. The calendar consists of 15 games, 11 against Northeast-10 Conference opponents. The schedule includes three teams that qualified for the 2014 NCAA Division II Tournament last season including Adelphi University who advanced to the semifinals.

The Setters host Post University for their season opener on Saturday, February 14th at 1:00 p.m. before closing out the month with a pair of road contests. Following the opener, Pace will travel to Dobbs Ferry, N.Y. to face Mercy College on Saturday, February 21st at 1:00 p.m. Then, the Setters end the month with a road matchup against ECC powerhouse Dowling College on Saturday, February 28th at 4:00 p.m.

The March slate opens up with two  road games. First, the Setters will conclude their non-conference portion of the schedule with a March 4th contest against Dominican College at 4:00 p.m. Then, Pace kicks off NE-10 play when they travel to North Andover, Mass. to compete against Merrimack College on Saturday, March 14th. The Setters return home, for the first time in five weeks, to host Saint Anselm College on Saturday, March 21st at noon. Three days later, they are back on the road when they travel to face Adelphi on Tuesday, March 24th at 4:00 p.m. The Setters fifth and final game of the month is a home tilt against Franklin Pierce University on Saturday, March 28th at noon.

April is the most crowded month on the schedule for Pace with a total of seven games. They begin the month at home against Le Moyne College on Wednesday, April 1st at 3:30 p.m. before hitting the road for the next three contests. The Setters travel to Southern New Hampshire University on Saturday, April 4th for a 1:00 p.m. game before heading to Springfield, Mass. to take on American International College on Tuesday, April 7th at 4:00 p.m. The final road contest of the schedule is against Assumption College on Saturday, April 11th at 4:00 p.m.

Pace concludes the final stretch of the 2015 regular season schedule with a trio of home games. First, the College of Saint Rose comes to town on Wednesday, April 15th for a 3:30 p.m. contest followed by a game against Saint Michael's College on Saturday, April 18th at noon. Pace ends their regular season at home against Bentley University on Friday, April 24th at 3:30 p.m.

Second year head coach Tom Mariano returns a talented group of core players for the Setters this season. Junior midfielder Matthew Cossidente was third for the Setters in goals last season with 18, the most amongst Pace returners this season. He added a pair of assists with 12 groundballs and was tied for third in the Northeast-10 with eight man-up goals. Long-stick middie Brandon Donnellan led Pace last season with 17 caused turnovers while ranking second on the team in groundballs with 53, earning him a spot on the NE-10 All-Rookie Team. The impressive sophomore added four goals and an assist during his 12 games of action last year.

Men's Lacrosse Alumni Day will take place this spring on Saturday April 18 on the new multi-purpose field on the Pleasantville campus. Prior to the game against St. Michael's, the 2015 men's lacrosse seniors will be recognized with their parents and families in a special senior day presentation. At halftime of the game all Pace Lacrosse Alumni will be invited onto the new turf field for the first time for a group photo. Following the game all alumni will be invited to scrimmage on the new field.

The cost of the event is $35.00 and includes a commemorative Pace Lacrosse t-shirt recognizing the first season on the new field, access to a hospitality tent during the game and appetizers at Michael's Tavern in Pleasantville after the alumni game.
