LACROSSE FALLS TO SAINT ANSELM IN NE-10 ACTION

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y.- The Pace Lacrosse team lost to the Hawks of Saint Anselm College 8-4 in Northeast-10 Conference action. The Setters fall to 4-5 overall and 1-4 in the NE-10, while the Hawks improve to 1-7 and 1-4 in conference play.

The Setters started out strong as they scored the first three goals of the game. Thomas Earl (North Babylon, NY/St. Anthony's) (North Babylon, NY/St. Anthony's) scored on the man-up opportunity off a Matt Gebhardt (West Islip, NY/West Islip) (West Islip, NY/West Islip) assist early in the first quarter.

In the second quarter, William Scioscia (Somerset, NJ/Immaculata) (Somerset, NJ/Immaculata) scored on the power play off a Tom Murphy (Yonkers, NY/Hastings) (Yonkers, NY/Hastings), while Kevin Kadlick (Boston, MA/Catholic Memorial) (Boston, MA/Catholic Memorial) scored later in the second quarter off a Nicholas Pellerito (Glen Cove, NY/Kellenberg) (Glen Cove, NY/Kellenberg) assist as Pace lead 3-0.

Saint Anselm netted a late goal in the second quarter as Pace took a 3-1 lead into halftime. The Hawks scored on the man-up chance early in the third quarter as they netted six unanswered goals to take a 7-3 lead in the fourth quarter. Kadlick broke up the run with a late goal but the Hawks scored with under a minute to play to lead 8-4.

For Pace, Kadlick led the Setters with two goals and in net Alex Cain (Rocky Point, NY/Rocky Point) went the distance and posted 15 saves.

For Saint Anselm, Andrew Messner and Jake Mallinson each netted two goals. In net, Dan Flynn went the distance and posted 16 saves.

The Setters return to action on Wednesday, April 13 when Pace will travel to Springfield, MA for a Northeast-10 Conference game against American International College at 4 pm.
