Box Score PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y.- The Setters fell 6-4 to the Falcons of Bentley University in Pace's season finale. Pace finishes the season at 5-9 overall and 2-8 in the Northeast-10, while the Falcons improve to 7-6 and 7-3 in conference play.
The Setters took an early lead as Thomas Earl (North Babylon, NY/St. Anthony's) (North Babylon, NY/St. Anthony's) scored at the 9:54 mark. The Falcons tied the game with 20 seconds left in the quarter as the teams headed into the second quarter tied at one. Matt Gebhardt (West Islip, NY/West Islip) (West Islip, NY/West Islip) put the Setters up 2-1 with an early second quarter goal off an assist from Nick Ospina (Westtown, NY/Minisink Valley) (Westtown, NY/Minisink Valley). Bentley tied the game at two with 6:20 left in the first half, then went onto add two more late goal and the Falcons led at the break 4-2.
Pace hung around the whole second half as Michael Ruppert (Hicksville, NY/Holy Trinity) (Hicksville, NY/Holy Trinity) scored off a John Kolesar (Warwick, NY/Warwick) (Warwick, NY/Warwick) assist to pull the Setters back to within one goal at 4-3. The Falcons answered with a goal midway through the quarter but Ospina scored to slice the lead back to one at 5-4. The fourth quarter only saw a lone goal by the Falcons as Bentley kept the Setters off the board in the final 15 minutes of play to give them the win.
Ospina led Pace with a goal and an assist. In net, Kevin Grady (Medford, NY/Bellport) went the distance and posted 17 saves.
