GAME LEADS SETTERS TO 13-6 WIN OVER GREYHOUNDS
PACE EXTENDS WIN STREAK TO FIVE GAMES
PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y.– Nicholas Pellerito (Glen Cove, NY/Kellenberg) (Glen
Cove, NY/Kellenberg) netted four goals, along with two
assists to aid the Setters in a 13-6 victory over the Greyhounds of
Assumption College in Northeast-10 Conference action. This is the
Setters' fifth win in a row, and their record improves to 6-4
and 5-2 in the NE-10, while the Greyhounds fall to 4-7 overall, and
0-7 in conference play.
James Hammel (N. Caldwell, NJ/West Essex) (North Caldwell, NJ/West Essex)
was also a top scorer for the Setters on the afternoon scoring
three goals, along with an assist for the game.
Pace started the action early after Joe Clark
(Hopkinton, MA/Hopkinton), and Kevin Kadlick (Boston, MA/Catholic Memorial)
(Boston, MA/Catholic Memorial) netted goals in the
game's first minute to give the Setters a 2-0 adavantage.
Clark would punch in another goal at the eight minute mark to
give Pace a 3-0 lead, but the Greyhounds would strike back with a
goal of their own to bring the score to 3-1. Hammel would end up
scoring his first goal of the game at the 6:34 mark in the first
quarter to give Pace a 4-1 which ended the first period of
play.
Pellerito would net three of his four goals for the game in the
second quarter. A goal by John Kolesar (Warwick, NY/Warwick Valley) (Warwick, NY/Warwick
Valley), and a second goal for the Greyhounds would give
the Setters an 8-2 advantage at halftime.
Three goals in a three minute period to start off the third
quarter allowed Assumption to be within three of the Setters with
the score 8-5. A goal by Hammel, and Thomas Earl (North Babylon, NY/St. Anthony's) (North
Babylon, NY/St. Anthony's) helped secure the Setters
lead making it 10-5 going into the fourth period.
The Setters would tag on three more goals in the fourth to make
it 13-5, and a final goal by the Greyhounds would make it 13-6 with
two minutes left in regulation.
In net, Sean Kearney (Mahopac, NY/Mahopac/Endicott
College) recorded 14 saves in 55:50 minutes of action.
Pace returns to action on Sunday, April 25 when the Setters
travel to Waltham, MA for a Northeast-10 Conference game scheduled
for 2:00 pm against the Bentley University Falcons.
