SCIARRETTA TOSSES COMPLETE GAME SHUTOUT IN WIN OVER CHARGERS

PLEASANTVILLE, NY- Pace University's baseball team was victorious in Northeast-10 conference action against the University of New Haven Chargers 1-0. Michael Sciaretta (Stamford, CT/Stamford) went the distance for the complete game shutout, allowing four hits and striking out four.

The Setters improve to 6-14 overall, and 2-6 in the Northeast-10 Conference, while the Chargers fall to 15-5 overall and 4-3 in conference play this season.

The lone run in the ball game came in the bottom half of the third inning. Patrick Chaputian (Sea Cliff, NY/North Shore) (Sea Cliff, NY/North Shore) led off the inning with a walk, and then advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt from Robert Horn (Stamford, CT/Westhill) (Stamford, CT/Westhill).

Chris Spatkoski (Bristol, CT/Bristol Eastern) lined a single to center field which scored the game's only run from second. Spatkoski was 3-for-3 in the game.

The Setters will return to action on Tuesday, March 30 when they face off against Nyack College at 3:30 pm in a non-conference game at Finnerty Field.
