SETTERS FALL TO FLORIDA SOUTHERN 8-5

TAMPA, Fla..– Pace opened their southern road trip with an 8-5 loss to Florida Southern in non-conference action. The Setters fall to 1-1 on the season with the Moccasins improve to 2-1 overall.

Florida Southern kept the Setters off the board in the first half as the Moccasins netted five goals. Joe Clark (Hopkinton, MA/Hopkinton) got the Setters on the board early in the third quarter but the Moccasins answered for a 6-1 lead.

Pace would rally with four unanswered goals, highlighted by a man-up goal by James Hammel (N. Caldwell, NJ/West Essex) (North Caldwell, NJ/West Essex). Florida Southern would keep the Setters off the board over final nine minutes of play, while tallying a pair of late goals for the 8-5 victory.

In goal, netminder Sean Kearney (Mahopac, NY/Mahopac/Endicott College ) (Mahopac, NY/Mahopac/Endicott College) posted 10 saves on the day.

Pace returns to action on Saturday, March 13 when the Setters will travel to Winter Park , FL to take on Rollins at 12 pm.
