Box Score MCGHEE NETS 19 POINTS IN SETTERS LOSS TO #12 BENTLEY
PLEASANTVILLE, NY- Pace senior Laurence McGhee (Linden, NJ/Linden) (Linden, NJ/Linden) drained a team-high 19 points in the Setters 76-53 loss to the Falcons of Bentley University. Pace falls to 9-11 overall and 7-8 in the Northeast-10 with the loss, while Bentley improves to 18-2 overall and 13-2 in the NE-10 with the win.
Ryan Woods (Staten Island, NY/St. Peters Boys) (Staten Island, NY/St. Peter's Boys) was another solid contributor on the afternoons in the game collecting 10 rebounds along with scoring 11 points for a double-double.
The Falcons would shoot their way out to an early 16-9 lead. The Setters would soon bring the deficit to within one, but the Falcons soon brought the lead back to seven.
Pace would tie the game at 26 with 4:56 remaining in the opening half, but 10-1 run would give the Falcons a nine point, 36-27 lead at the half.
In the second half, Bentley would extend their lead to 12 before having it cut down to six. With the score 47-41, Bentley went on a 13-0 run to take a 19 point lead over Pace. The Setters went scoreless for seven minutes during this run.
The Falcons would eventually break out to a 20 point lead, and maintain the lead for remainder of the game with the 23 point win.
The Setters return to action on Wednesday, February 3 when they take the road to face the Panthers of Adelphi University in a NE-10 game set for a 7:30 p.m. tip off in Garden City, NY.
