SHEPPARD NETS THREE POINTS IN SEASON FINALE LOSS TO BENTLEY 12-6

PLEASANTVILLE, NY- Jake Sheppard (Brunswick East, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia/East Victoria) (Brunswick East, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia/Northcote) totaled three points on two goals and one assist in the Setters season finale 12-6 loss to the Falcons of Bentley University. The Setters end the season at 4-10 overall and 3-6 in the Northeast-10 Conference, while the Falcons finish their regular season at 8-3 and 7-2 in conference play.

The Falcons got on the board early as Stephen Moulton (Danvers, MA) tallied a pair of goals in the four an half minutes of play. T. J. Urban (Kinnelon, NJ/Kinnelon) scored off a Sheppard assist to slice the score to 2-1.Bentley would close out the opening quarter with three unanswered goals over the final seven minutes to lead 5-1.

James Hammel (N. Caldwell, NJ/West Essex) (North Caldwell, NJ/West Essex) and Sheppard would get the Setters back in the game with a pair of second quarter goals to cut the Falcon lead to 5-3 at the 4:06 mark. Bentley would answer with pair of late goals to take a four goal lead into halftime.

The Falcons would keep the Setters off the scoreboard in the third quarter, while netting three goals to lead 10-3 after three periods. Nicholas Pellerito (Glen Cove, NY/Kellenberg) (Glen Cove, NY/Kellenberg Memorial) would score a man-up goal early in the fourth but a pair of Bentley goals put the game out of reach. Pellerito and Sheppard would add a goal each in the final 30 seconds as the Setters fell in their season finale.

Sheppard and Pellerito (2G, 1A) each posted three points each, while Urban tallied a goal and one assist. In his final collegiate game in net for Pace, goaltender Timothy Matheis (Lindenhurst, NY/Lindenhurst) (Lindenhurst, NY/Lindenhurst) played 60 minutes, allowing 12 goals and recording 16 saves.
