Box Score PACE FALLS TO FRANKLIN

RINDGE, N.H. - The Pace University baseball team lost a NE-10
Conference matchup to the first place Ravens of Franklin Pierce
University 8-0 on Friday afternoon at Dr. Pappas Field.
The loss will drop Pace to 17-24-1 for the season, and 11-14 in
the NE-10 Conference. The win will improve the Ravens to 27-14 for
the year, and 18-5 in conference play.
Franklin Pierce didn't waste any time taking control of the game
as they scored first in the bottom of the first inning. The Ravens
scored two runs in the inning without even recording a hit as they
were helped by two Pace errors to take a 2-0 lead.
The Ravens kept the runs coming as they scored a run in the
third, fourth, and fifth innings to take a 5-0 lead after five
innings.
This would be the end of the afternoon for Pace starter
Nicholas DeMeo (Farmingville, NY/Sachem East) (Farmingville, NY/Sachem East)
(1-2) as he was the victim of four Pace errors that led to four
unearned runs on the afternoon. He pitched five innings while
giving up five runs (one earned) on six hits. He struck out three,
and walked two on the day.
Pace couldn't figure out Franklin Pierce starter Tom Cote as he
went eight shutout innings while only giving up four hits and
struck out 10.
One Setter that did figure out Cote was Tyler Hart (Poughquag, NY/Arlington)
(Poughquag, NY/Arlington) who went 2-for-3 on the day with
two singles.
Pace will be back in action tomorrow as they will stay on the
road to take on UMass Lowell in Lowell, MA. The game is scheduled
to start at 12:00 p.m.
