Box Score PACE FALLS TO BRYANT

PLEASANTVILLE, NY- The Pace men's lacrosse lost to Bryant
University 17-7 in Northeast-10 Conference action. The Setters drop
to 6-4 overall and 3-2 in the NE-10, while Bulldogs improve to 8-3
and 5-1 in conference play.
The teams traded goals in the opening two and minutes of play as
Bryant's Bryan Kaufmann (Putnam Valley, NY) and the Setters
James Hammel (N. Caldwell, NJ/West Essex) (North Caldwell, NJ/West Essex) each
netted a score for a 1-1 tie. Kevin Hoagland (Glastonbury, CT) put
the Bulldogs ahead 2-1 with 11:17 left in the first quarter. A key
Setter equipment violation penalty left the Setters a man-down for
three minutes and Bryant capitalized, scoring five times in the
penalty for a 7-1 lead.
The Setters' Joseph Clark (Hopkinton, MA/Hopkinton) (Hopkinton,
MA/Hopkinton) and Justin Page (Eagan, MN/Eagan) (Eagan,
MN/Eagan) closed the Pace deficit to 7-3 but three
unanswered goals by the Bulldogs extended their lead to 10-3 early
in third quarter. The Setters could not get any closer the rest of
the way and fell 17-7.
For Pace, Page had two goals, while T.J. Urban (Kinnelon, NJ/Kinnelon)
(Kinnelon, NJ/Kinnelon) tallied a pair of assists. In net,
Timothy Matheis (Lindenhurst, NY/Lindenhurst) (Lindenhurst, NY/Lindenhurst)
recorded 22 saves on the day.
Pace returns to action when on Thursday, April 17 when they will
host Northeast-10 Conference foe Merrimack College at 4:00 pm at
Pace Field in Pleasantville.
