BASEBALL FALLS TO DOMINICAN, 8-1

PLEASANTVILLE, NY - Daniel Bucci (Dobbs Ferry, NY) pitched eight strong innings giving up one run on three hits and two walks, while striking out nine, to help lead the Chargers of Dominican College past the Pace University Setters. Pace falls to 4-5 on the season, while Dominican improves to 4-5 overall.

The Chargers struck early scoring three first inning runs, taking advantage of a fielding error. With two outs, Tom Keegan (Dickson City, PA) reached base on an error by the right fielder, which allowed Tommy Maloney (Massapequa Park, NY) and Jose Made (Binghamton, NY) to score. Sean Brown (Massapequa, NY) followed with a double to drive in Keegan.

Dominican would add a run in the fifth, sixth and seventh and put up two runs in the eighth. Keegan led the Charger offense going 1-for-2 with 3 RBI'S and a run scored, while Maloney went 2-for-3 with 3 runs scored.

The Setters scored their lone run of the game in the eighth when Chris Brown (West Kingston, RI/South Kingston) crossed the plate on Bucci's wild pitch. Sophomore Andre Liscinsky (Trumbull, CT/Trumbull) finished with two of Pace's three hits on the day, going 2-for-4.

Senior Justin Kanellis (Lansing, NY/Lansing Central) (Lansing, NY/Lansing Central) started for Pace going five innings, allowing five hits, fours runs (one earned), three walks, while striking out three batters.

The Setters return to action on Thursday March 15th, weather permitting, as they play host to Concordia College in a non-conference match up. First pitch is scheduled for 3:15 p.m. at Finnerty Field on the Pleasantville campus of Pace University.
