Pleasantville, NY- The Pace University baseball team posted a 5-run 4th inning to help them to a 7-3 win over Assumption College in a Northeast-10 Conference game at Finnerty Field on the Pleasantville campus of Pace University.  Pace improves to 15-5 overall and 2-0 in the NE-10 while Assumption drops to 3-14 overall and 0-5 in the NE-10.

Assumption scored the game's first run, and held their only lead of the game, in the top of the 3rd inning.  Scott Scannell (Worcester, MA/Burncoat) led off the inning with a single and then advanced to second base on a failed pickoff attempt by Pace starter, Bryan Hallberg (River Edge, NJ/River Dell Regional) (River Edge, NH/River Dell Regional).  Tyler Vivian (Ashland, MA/Marian) then reached on an error by Pace third baseman Matt Arburr (Bristol, CT/Bristol Eastern) (Bristol, CT/ Bristol Eastern), moving Scannell to third.  Matt Cavallaro (West Haven, CT/ West Haven) then doubled to right field, scoring Scannell.  Hallberg would bounce back to force a groundball back to the mound and then strike out the last batter, stranding two Greyhounds.

Pace would respond in the bottom half of the inning.  After Andre Liscinsky (Trumbull, CT/Trumbull) (Trumbull, CT/Trumbull) and Chris Brown (West Kingston, RI/South Kingstown) were retired, Brian Hollrah (Glenwood, MD/Glenely) (Glenwood, MD/Glenely) singled to center field.  JC Pullum (White Plains, NY/Valhalla) (White Plains, NY/Valhalla) then singled to the shortstop, moving Hollrah into scoring position at second base. Jack Cawley (Bronx, NY/Iona Prep) (Bronx, NY/Iona Prep) then doubled to left field, scoring Hollrah and Pullum and giving Pace a 2-1 lead.

In the bottom of the 4th, Arburr, Mike Pahira (Holmdel, NJ/Holmdel) (Holmdel, NJ/Holmdel) and Adam Harwood (Los Angeles, CA/Brentwood) (Los Angeles, CA/Brentwood) all singled to start the inning.  Liscinsky's ground ball to third base forced Arburr out at the plate, but left the bases loaded.  After Brown struck out, Hollrah doubled to left field, scoring Harwood and Pahira.  Pullum then followed with an RBI single to center field, scoring Liscinsky and Cawley followed with his second two-run double of the game, scoring Pullum and Hollrah, and giving Pace a 7-1 lead heading into the top of the 7th.

Assumption would tack on a run in the 7th when Scannell led off the game with a double to center field.  After Connor Ryan (Auburn, MA/Bancroft School) ground out to first, moving Scannell to third, Vivian's ground back to second would score Scannell, cutting the Setter lead to 7-2.

In the 9th, Scannell led off with his fourth hit of the afternoon to left field, and then advanced to second on a passed ball.  Vivian would single to score Scannell to bring Assumption to 7-3.

Hallberg picked up the victory to improve to 3-1 after holding Assumption to seven hits over seven innings while striking out 10 and walking one.  Michael Sheehy (Pelham, NY/Pelham Memorial) (Pelham, NY/Pelham Memorial) pitched a scoreless 8th and Earl Oakes (Bristol, CT/Bristol Eastern) (Bristol, CT/Bristol Eastern) picked up his 7th save of the season pitching the 9th.  At the plate, Hollrah was 3-for-4 with two RBI while Cawley was 3-for-4 with four RBI and two doubles.  Arburr also picked up three hits in the game.
