PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Pace University Athletics announced Thursday that Tim McIntee has been named interim head coach of the Pace University men's lacrosse program.

McIntee moves into the role after joining the Setters as an assistant coach in the fall of 2025. He brings nearly four decades of experience in the sport, including coaching stops at the collegiate and high school levels along with time as a professional player.

"Tim brings a great deal of experience and a strong understanding of what it takes to lead a successful program," said Director of Athletics Mark Brown. "He has made an immediate impact since joining our staff and has earned the respect of our student-athletes and coaches. We are pleased to have him lead our men's lacrosse program during this time."

Before arriving in Pleasantville, N.Y., McIntee served as an assistant coach at Molloy University and helped guide the Lions through a historic 2025 season. Molloy captured the first East Coast Conference Championship in program history, earned its first NCAA Tournament appearance, and recorded its first NCAA postseason victory. The staff was also named the ECC Coaching Staff of the Year.

That same spring, McIntee served as head coach at Middle Country High School, where he led the program to its first Conference I playoff appearance in more than a decade.

McIntee previously spent 15 seasons as the head coach at Manhattan College, earning three MAAC Coach of the Year awards while leading the Jaspers to a conference championship and NCAA Tournament appearance. His collegiate coaching career also includes stops at Hofstra, Mount St. Mary's and Dartmouth.

"This job is a blessing to me, and I'm extremely grateful to Jeff Barnett, Mark Brown and Mike Winn for putting their trust in me," McIntee said.

"I've been around this game for almost 40 years, so I understand how special it is to have the chance to lead a program. My biggest focus is making sure our student-athletes are taken care of the right way and giving them the best experience possible. I'm going to work every day to help this program continue moving forward, and I can't wait to get started with our guys."

McIntee's background in the sport also includes time as a professional player and team captain with the New York Saints. He is a member of both the CW Post and Long Island Metropolitan Lacrosse Halls of Fame and was a member of the USA World Championship Team in 1989-90.

McIntee will now lead the Setters into the 2027 campaign as Pace looks to build off one of the most successful seasons in program history.
