Six Setters Earn IWLCA All-Region Honors

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Six members of the No. 1 Pace University women's lacrosse team earned IWLCA All-Region honors, the organization announced on Wednesday.

Earning first-team nods are Angelina Porcello, Delilah Doyle, Alexandra Quinn and Samantha Tanguay while Sydney Juvelier and Nikki Mottes earned second-team honors.

This is Porcello's third year being named first team all-region after turning in yet another stellar year for the Blue and Gold. Porcello has crossed the 100-point threshold with 65 goals and 43 assists, giving her 108 points. The 65 goals and 43 assists are the top marks for the team. To round out her stats, Porcello has secured 69 ground balls while causing 63 turnovers and receiving 103 draw controls. Porcello is the only player in recent history to post an eight-goal, eight caused turnover performance, which she did back in March against No. 5 Florida Southern College. Porcello has recorded at least one point in every game this season while posting eight points on three separate occasions.

Doyle, who has earned her first all-region honor of her career, has been a consistent defensive presence for the Setters. Doyle has caused 41 changes of possession, which is tied with Quinn for second on the team, while also corralling the same amount of ground balls. Doyle also recorded her first collegiate points this year, handing out two assists and scoring one goal. The graduate student caused five turnovers in two games this year, against Georgian Court University and Southern New Hampshire University. Doyle also caused four turnovers against Assumption University and Southern Connecticut State University.

Quinn, who was first team all-region last year, once again established herself as a defensive presence that needs to be respected. Quinn caused 41 turnovers while securing 81 draws and picking up 38 ground balls all while scoring three goals while handing out four assists. Quinn forced five turnovers in the Setters overtime win over Mercy University while causing four in four separate games, against Franklin Pierce University, Southern Connecticut, Assumption and Adelphi University.

Tanguay has been exceptional as the Setters final line of defense in between the pipes. Owning a GAA of 7.72, which is fourth in all the land, and a save percentage of .498 while making a total of 118 as the Setters NCAA tournament play. Tanguay made a season-high 11 saves in three separate occasions, against New Haven, Mercy and Bentley while also making 10 saves against Adelphi.

Juvelier has been an integral part of the potent Setters offensive attack, firing off 49 goals and assisting on 12. She scored her 100th career goal against the University of Tampa, a game in which she scored five goals. She hit the five-goal mark two other times, against Saint Michael's and Southern Connecticut. Juvelier posted 12 total hat tricks at this point in the 2024 season.

Mottes has established herself as a key playmaker for the Setters, recording 80 points thanks to 38 goals and 42 helpers.  In all but one game this year, Mottes recorded at least one point including a career-high nine points off of five goals and four assists against Bentley in the regular season. Both times the Setters and the Falcons squared off this year, Mottes scored five goals while she scored four goals against The College of Saint Rose, American International College and Saint Michael's.
