Box Score MANCHESTER, N.H. – Saturday afternoon, the Pace University women's basketball team snapped their three-game losing streak against Southern New Hampshire University, 74-61. The dominant road victory marks the Setter's 16th win of the season as they improve to 16-9 overall, and 10-9 in the Northeast-10.
Ciara Collins' posted a career high of 25 points as she continues to take a substantial leap in her sophomore season. The Setters built early momentum behind Collins' seven first quarter points and after the opening twenty minutes the Blue and Gold lead, 34-32.
After a tight knit third quarter Pace held a four-point advantage heading into the final quarter, 52-48. The Setters would extend their lead early into the fourth off a 13-6 run highlighted by another six points by Collins.
Pace built their lead over the Penman in the final minutes, grabbing the largest lead of the game, 74-58, on back-to-back free throws from Arianna Stockinger. The Setters took advantage of several extra opportunities on the offensive glass to gain control, in an impressive 74-61 win.
In the final quarter, the Blue and Gold outscored the home team 22-13 to claim their ninth road win of the year, improving to 9-4 away from Pleasantville, N.Y.
Physicality in the paint was the difference maker for Pace as they brought down a season-best 20 offensive rebounds leading to 24 second-chance points. Victoria Dieguez led the Setters with five offensive rebounds, while Tower Lorde tallied four.
On 11-18 from the floor, Collins produced 13 first-half points and a dozen in the second half to reach her career high of 25 points. Katumina Mansaray supplied 13, while Dieguez added ten.
With only three games remaining in the season, Pace returns to the Goldstein Fitness Center on Wednesday evening for a match-up against American International College.
