WALTHAM, MA. – Competing against one of the top teams in the conference, Pace University Women's Basketball delivered a strong first-half against No. 17 Bentley University before the Falcons capitalized on a third-quarter run in Wednesday night's Northeast 10 (NE10) contest. The road loss at the Dana Center moves Pace to 6–19 overall, and 2–14 in NE10 play as only one contest remains in the 2025-26 campaign.
Bentley established an early tempo, but Pace answered with patience and perimeter shooting in the second quarter.
Anisa Akinola scored inside to steady the offense before
Ciara Collins ignited a rally with back-to-back three-pointers that erased the early deficit, 23-22.
Grace Ziogas followed with a triple of her own, and
Ciera Cevallos connected from deep late in the half to draw the Setters even. Pace entered the locker room trailing by just two, firmly within striking distance, 30-28.
The Falcons shifted the game in the third quarter. Bentley increased defensive pressure and converted in transition, gradually building separation midway through the period. Collins responded to the Falcon's run with a three, and Akinola added a strong finish keep the margin manageable, 49-37. Despite the effort, Bentley extended the advantage entering the fourth.
The Setters competed on the glass and forced defensive stops down the stretch, but Bentley capitalized on extended possessions and free-throw opportunities to secure the 73-45 result.
Collins led Pace with 18 points, including three three-pointers, while Akinola added eight points. Ziogas contributed eight points from the perimeter, and Brand led the interior with a team-high 11 rebounds.
The Setters return home Saturday for Senior Day, hosting Southern New Hampshire University for a 1:30 p.m. tip-off at the Goldstein Fitness Center.
